Spa Overview

The Grand Spa taps one of the world's most beautiful locations – thermal mineral springs set in the Costa Rican rainforest at the foot of the Arenal Volcano – to offer an incomparable spa experience.  Treatments are given in 11 open-air bungalows, all with Jacuzzis, a fully equipped gym, an outdoor manicure/pedicure areas, and an open-air Yoga Center and Ayurvedic focused spa menu.

 Our wide range of treatments and therapies features the Temazcal ritual, a native purifying and detoxifying ritual performed in a sweat lodge by a Shaman (native doctor).  Tabacón’s Temazcal is the first of its kind in Central America and the only one in the world in an energetic active volcanic environment. 

Overview

Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort is a deluxe resort located at the foot of the Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. This deluxe resort features a natural thermal river with twelve hot spring pools and lagoons, lush waterfalls, exotic gardens and trails. Its distinctive spa, The Grand Spa, capitalizes on its unique hot mineral springs location, with treatments and therapies including Temazcal (sweat lodge), volcanic mud wraps, mineral water balneotherapy, signature scrubs, and an open-air yoga studio.  All of the water supply in the hotel is mineral spring water.

All room and suites offer partial volcano, garden or forest views, mini-bar, in-room safe, coffee maker, DVD player, Cable TV, iron and ironing board, Internet access and luxurious bathroom amenities.

The perfect dining experience is the ultimate complement to a full day of adventure, spa treatments and relaxation in our hot mineral springs and tropical gardens.  For guests seeking a casual dining atmosphere, Ave del Paraíso Restaurant is located in the resort’s hot mineral springs and garden area.  This restaurant has à-la-carte lunch, buffet dinner, and features lovely views of the main waterfall and our lush tropical gardens. 

If fine dining in an elegant environment is on your mind, Los Tucanes Restaurant offers first-class international cuisine.  This welcoming and intimate restaurant located on the hotel grounds will surprise you with our breakfast buffet, and our gourmet cuisine from the authorship of our Chef Leopoldo Cortés, Costa Rica’s leading chef, will tantalize your palate.
