Q: I am 39 and have chronic pain in my lower back and sciatica from my buttock down to my calf in my left leg. I also have chronic pain in my shoulder. I have had 2 lumbar micro disectemys and a rotary cuff repair in my shoulder. My last back op was 4 years ago and my shoulder 1 year ago. I am a single mum and have no time to rest and the pain gets worse. I have physio and accupuncture twice a week but my physio says that my muscles are deteriorating, and it's a vicious circle as I can't exercise, so I can't get out of this rut and I don't want to live the 40 years of my life in pain, unable to cope physically with the basics of my life. I am putting on weight and need to find somewhere to escape to for at least a week to try to reduce my pain, start to establish some fitness to start re-building my muscles and to loosen them up as they are so tight constantly that it causes more pain. Have you got any suggestions for places in Europe which offer pilates/gentle yoga, water treatment, spa facilities, detox, physio, massage and a itiniary for me to follow - I need to be organised and motivated to improve so that I can return home and maintain all the good work completed? Maybe even some cognitive therapy or a mentor to support and guide me? I am desperate to get away and feel better. I used to be a competitive sportswoman and have natural fitness hidden somewhere inside! But at the moment it hurts to drive, walk, hoover, do the washing, take my daughter on days out etc I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks in advance for your expert advice. I am keen to get away at the end of this month/beginning May if poss. |

I do not want to be interrupted by female assistants
or female masseurs or attendants.
I'ts not that I want an alternative life Spa, no, it's that
