The Quartier 206 department store is in the Orangery. It is a small, well-stocked boutique whose style is similar to the 2.500 m² of retail space at the shopping paradise Quartier 206 on Friedrichstraße in Berlin.
Even before Anne Maria Jagdfeld, the owner and founder of Quartier 206, opened her store in Berlin in 1997, she had clear visions of how her personal retail store should be. She wanted her store's product line to be different from other stores in Germany. That is why Ms Jagdfeld jumped on a plane and visited various places around the world for some months with the aim of putting together an unusual but carefully balanced selection of goods for her department store. Her search for international lifestyle products that are hard or impossible to find in Germany still continues today. Besides designer fashion, couture, established avant-garde and trendy labels and young fashion, she is also on the look-out for accessories, cosmetics, jewellery, books, art, flowers and interior design articles.
Products for which one used to have to travel to Paris, Milan, Hong Kong or London can now be bought at Heiligendamm as well as the Berlin branch of the store.
